School is a very stressful time of everyone's life. This stress seems to build as children get older. Tests in particular are very stressful moments at school. During tests we all have to prove ourselves and this is very stressful. Breathing

One effective remedy is to use controlled breathing. You should take long deep breaths and these will help you to calm down. To make this work you simply need to look out for the symptoms you normally experience just before a panic attack.

Instead of allowing yourself to get worked up as normal you need to take some time out by taking some deep breaths. This will help you to calm down and help you to realize that you have no reason to be afraid. This is a great tip because you can even do it in the exam hall.

Talk About it

This one obviously isn't advisable in the exam room. Before the exam you should talk about your fears with other people you know. By getting your fears out there in the open you're not bottling anything up. They will also help you to realize that you are being irrational.

Preparation

Anxiety is caused because you are unprepared and afraid of the unknown. If you prepare better next time then you should not be as afraid. Preparation is just one of the many ways of overcoming test anxiety. Dealing with test anxiety doesn't actually have to be very complicated.

Relax

Relaxation is very important when testing. Relaxation will help you to remove any mental blocks which are holding you back. If you are relaxed then you should find tests much easier to complete. There are a variety of techniques you can use outside of the exam room including yoga or exercise.

Even when you are in the exam room breathing techniques can be used to help you relax.

Be Positive

One of the best ways of dealing with test anxiety is to be positive. You shouldn't be too hard on yourself or allow yourself to be negative. If you can manage all of these tips then you will have no trouble overcoming test anxiety.
